MEMORY
Memory deficits are a common problem after brain injury. MEMORY is a compensatory strategy training for memory deficits that enables individuals to apply it to those situations where they experience problems in everyday life.

MEMORY TRAINING

After a brain injury, problems with memory can arise. Impaired memory cannot be cured or trained. However, it can help to learn a strategy with which you can support the memory. In this way the patient will suffer less from a reduced memory. In this training we will practice learning memory strategies.

We distinguish between external and internal memory strategies. External strategies are tools outside your head (such as a calendar or notebook), internal strategies are used in your head (such as repeating information in your head).

Some people think that using strategies makes their own memory worse or lazy. This is absolutely not the case! The use of good strategies can actually support memory.
